The Warrior God


In the earliest history of Israel, God relates to his people, committing himself to landless and desperate tribes, to whom, as their ruler, he gives identity and security.

Note:  the prologue should be read as part of the story, a "launch pad" that sends the rest of the story on its way. It is not a foreword or preface, which could be skipped.
